Borealis
Experimental/Documentary (2005), 13 min., Super 16mm
“Borealis” uses spectacular 16mm winter imagery of Northwestern Ontario to challenge the viewer’s perceptions of the ‘pristine north’. It documents the beauty and the harsh realities of life on the edge of Boreal forest. Set to an original score by Lise Vaugeois, Borealis uses music instead of a traditional narrative to move the viewer.
